KNOWING SPAIN in 3rd GRADE

Along our last unit, we have learnt different types of landscapes and some features from our environment in Science classes. Knowing the main mountains and rivers from our country is very  important, so why don´t we learn them in a funny way? We have made a physical map of Spain using newspapers, paper towel and  white glue with our own hands!

WHERE I LIVE, FIRST GRADE

At the end of the Social Unit "Where I live", the students of first grade have built a small street map. They have modeled with clay different things that used to see in their street like houses, traffic lights, road signals, parks and cars. A funny and creative way to learn about the world around us.

FIRST AID IN 6TH GRADE

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF SOMEONE IS…...

Bleeding
Burns
unconsciousness
Joint injuries
Choking

VIRGEN DEL ROCIO' S 6º PUPILS CAN HELP…...KEEP CALM…..

First aid is the initial treatment given to a victim. Some injuries do not require professional assistance. They can be treated with simple methods such as applying an ice pack, pressure or put a plasters... etc. First aiders can help the affected person feel better and relieve pain by performing simple procedures. Our 6º 's pupils have learned these simple but effective procedures in each of these cases. Click here to check it out!

Learning first aid is a life-skill. I am completely sure first - aid will help children become more risk aware and equip them with new knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe and help themselves or others if involved in an emergency.

It could save their life.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ARIZONA

Happy New Year Pilas!

After being in Spain since September 2017, I finally went home to visit my family. My father turned 82 years old during the holidays, and my brother, his wife and my three nieces came to visit. Two of my nieces are twins and they never talk, they’re very shy. Hiniesta, a teacher here at Colegio Virgen del Rocío, gave me a big piece of amazing cheese to give to my father, he loved it. We also made paella (my Valencian friend was horrified when I told her what I put in it) and ate jamón, olives and boquerones.

On the other hand, on January 8th when I left Phoenix, Arizona for New York and later Sevilla, a young student named Hanna from Croatia was sitting next to me. She had created this video of her experience in Arizona. As a visitor, she saw my home state differently than I do.
