PEACE DAY 2021

Hi everyone!

Another year we celebrated the "School Day of Non-violence and Peace" that is observed on January 30 or thereabouts every year, on the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi. This year we were working on that into the classrooms, due to the pandemic context, doing activities about peace and its consequences and listening songs in order to get people involved in this topic.

For instance, 5ºC have worked on the origin and meaning of the symbols in Lengua and Ciudadanía classes (relating it to emigration). The symbols have been made in Art and the famous quotes about peace and the song "I have got peace in my fingers" in English class... The final mural above this text is the visual product of the children's work on peace. Great job teacher Lourdes 👏👏

The School Day of Non-violence and Peace

The School Day of Non-violence and Peace is an observance founded by the Spanish poet Llorenç Vidal Vidal in Majorca in 1964 as a starting point and support for a pacifying and non-violent education of a permanent character. It  is observed on January 30 or thereabouts every year, on the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi, in schools all over the world.

This year we are been wotking on a a lip dub that is a type of music video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing to make a music video. It is made by filming individuals or a group of people lip synching while listening to a song or any recorded audio then dubbing over it in post editing with the original audio of the song.

Following Macaco's rhythm and his song "Love is the only way", we achived our own lipdub to celebrate the peace day this year. Click here and we hope you enjoy it!

PEACE DAY 2016

Good morning!

Last Friday we celebrated the Peace Day in our school. Besides class activities and individual works, all the pupils worked on one Michael Jackson song called "Heal the World". Our performance was simple but interesting. Some students from Sixth level learnt parts of the song and they sang them on live. The chorus was sung together and everybody showed one white paper, except the Sixth level pupils who showed one black paper each, shaping the peace symbol. Here you can check the final result.

Different as the first proposed by the UNESCO "Armistice Day" in 1948, the "School Day of Non-violence and Peace" is observed on January 30 or thereabouts every year, on the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi, in schools all over the world.
In our school, we are working on that into the classrooms, doing activities about peace and its consequences and listening songs in order to get people involved in this topic. You can check this work out through pictures shown.

Peace Day

Last 28th January of 2011, we celebrated our Peace Day, although the exact day is 30th January, remembering when Ghandi died. You can enjoy it watching the next video.

Recently we have celebrated the peace day in our school. Besides classroom and cycle activities we ended up our program with two big shows. The first one was a georgeus tree made of children that moved its slaves with a Spanish peace song. On the other hand, some students danced another song about love and peace in pairs.
