PLANTS AND LANDSCAPES IN 2nd GRADE

Our students in second grade have been very busy these days.....we have learned about plants and landscapes and made two nice projects: first, they have grown seeds and make their “hair” grow green!! Then, they have made their own natural or man-made landscapes using just recycled materials at home...Congratulations for your great job!!! Teacher María

WACKY WEATHER IN 4th GRADE

Hello everyone!

Our great Language Assistant Emily Bleeker helped our 4th grade students to bring some Wacky Weather to Pilas! Using the film, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” as inspiration, students used their creativity to design their very own weather forecasts. Each student chose different types of food and different types of weather then combined them together to report the wackiest weather imaginable!

Students presented each of their weather reports to the class exercising their English speaking, writing, and listening skills. Watch out, Pilas, some crazy weather is in the forecast!

SPORT WEEK 2021

 Hi everyone!

Like every year, we celebrated the Andalusian Day with our traditional SPORT WEEK. This one was special because of the pandemic, but the virus could not stop us with the XXIX Edition and our students participated in sport activities for a month in physical education classes.

We had to stop competing between groups, but there were teams in every class and they practiced some popular games and sports, with medals for the winners. All of us enjoyed a lot, as you can check out from pictures bellow.

Besides that, our students worked in symbols and traditions about our Community in other subjects. Our anthem and flag were also our protagonists this last weeks, as you can see. LONG LIVE ANDALUSIA!!

Lapbook in 4th grade

Spring is not too far in time and our 4th grade students have learned about the plant processes in Natural Science classes, making “Lapbooks” about plants. A lap book generally consists of a paperboard folder such as a file folder with small pieces of folded paper glued inside. The finished product is called a lapbook because it’s large and covers your lap.

Nice job teacher Paqui Quintero!

PEACE DAY 2021

Hi everyone!

Another year we celebrated the "School Day of Non-violence and Peace" that is observed on January 30 or thereabouts every year, on the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi. This year we were working on that into the classrooms, due to the pandemic context, doing activities about peace and its consequences and listening songs in order to get people involved in this topic.

For instance, 5ºC have worked on the origin and meaning of the symbols in Lengua and Ciudadanía classes (relating it to emigration). The symbols have been made in Art and the famous quotes about peace and the song "I have got peace in my fingers" in English class... The final mural above this text is the visual product of the children's work on peace. Great job teacher Lourdes 👏👏

You can check more works in other leveles through pictures shown bellow.
