Charles Dickens

The bilingual team decided to work to Charles Dickens this year, approaching another of the great writers of English literature to our school, after seeing Shakespeare the last year. The proposal includes classroom activities and short tiered activities to expose the other students what they worked at class. We will learn a briefly biography of the author and every level will focus on one of his most famous works. First level A Christmas Carol, second level A tale of two cities, third level Oliver Twist and fourth level Great Expectations. Katelyn, our language assistant, will guide the presentation of works with a short speech about their experiences with Dickens in USA.

I VOLLEY CHAMPIONSHIP

The first Volley Championship in the CEIP Virgen del Rocío was celebrated the last December. Our oldest students formed teams of three people and they played during break time. Due to the bad weather we had to postpone the finals until the first week of the new year. Physical Education teachers want to congratulate to all of students for their good behaviour and fair play.

Halloween 2013

Hello students!

This is your language assistant Katelyn. This week is one of the most SCARY days of the year--Halloween!!

On October 31 in the United States, children dress up in scary costumes (like witches, mummies, and ghosts!) or in fun costumes (like superheroes or animals). Sometimes, their schools have Halloween parties with many scary games. The children sing Halloween songs, watch scary movies, and go to haunted houses! They also love to make jack o' lanterns -->
Jack o' lanterns
On Halloween night, the children walk to many houses and ask for candy. They say, "Trick or Treat!" Afterwards, they go home and eat ALL of the candy--Yum!!

Are you going to wear a costume for Halloween? Get ready for a spooky day at school!! Mwuahaha!
