SHEL SILVERSTEIN IN THE BOOK DAY 2021

Another year, even in pandemic context, the CEIP Virgen del Rocío bilingual team has worked on another English Speaking writer for our Cultural Week and the Book Day. In this case, we went to Chicago to meet Shel Silverstein, an american author with lots of chidren books.

Emily Bleeker, our language assistant, guided the presentation. We learnt a briefly biography of the author and every level focused on two of his most famous works, The Giving Tree and A giraffa and a half. After that, we were working about it from pre-school students to the oldest ones in sixth grade. You can check out their work in the final video clicking here or on the picture below.

We hope you like it ;)

WACKY WEATHER IN 4th GRADE

Hello everyone!

Our great Language Assistant Emily Bleeker helped our 4th grade students to bring some Wacky Weather to Pilas! Using the film, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” as inspiration, students used their creativity to design their very own weather forecasts. Each student chose different types of food and different types of weather then combined them together to report the wackiest weather imaginable!

Students presented each of their weather reports to the class exercising their English speaking, writing, and listening skills. Watch out, Pilas, some crazy weather is in the forecast!
